34-Star United States Flag – Battle of Mine Creek 1864 – American Civil War Nylon Series Reproduction Flag
A Banner of Union Strength in the Western Theater
The 34-Star United States Flag – Battle of Mine Creek 1864 honors one of the most decisive Union victories west of the Mississippi. As part of the American Civil War Nylon Series Reproduction Flags, this 3′×5′ flag represents the colors carried by Federal cavalry and infantry units during General Sterling Price’s 1864 Raid.
The Battle of Mine Creek, fought on October 25, 1864, near Pleasanton, Kansas, ended the last major Confederate offensive in the region. Union forces led by Major Generals Alfred Pleasonton and Samuel Curtis overwhelmed Price’s army, capturing hundreds of men and restoring control to Union hands. This victory confirmed Kansas’s role in defending the nation’s western frontier.
Authentic Design and Symbolism
This reproduction features thirty-four white stars arranged in a medallion pattern on a deep blue canton. Thirteen alternating red and white stripes represent the original colonies and the enduring Union. Each star marks a state in the Union following Kansas’s admission in 1861. Together, they symbolize strength, unity, and liberty.
Although the 34-star flag was official from July 4, 1861, to June 1863, Union regiments continued to fly it well into 1864. It was the pattern most familiar to soldiers who served in the Western campaigns, including those who fought at Mine Creek.
Proudly Made in the USA
Each flag is FMAA-certified, ensuring genuine American workmanship — Flag Manufacturers Association of America (FMAA). Skilled American makers craft every flag from SolarGuard® nylon, chosen for its brilliant color, UV resistance, and long-lasting performance.
