The flag of Libya consists of three horizontal stripes with red on the top, green on the bottom, and black in the center. In the middle of the black horizontal stripe, there is a white crescent moon and a five-pointed white star.

The red stripe represents the blood of martyrs and the sacrifice in the fight against oppression, while the black stripe represents the dark days of oppression and colonialism that Libya has overcome. The white crescent moon and star symbolize the Islamic faith and the hope of the people of the country for a future of unity, freedom, and prosperity.
