The flag of Nicaragua consists of three equal horizontal stripes, with the top and bottom stripes being blue and the middle stripe being white. In the center of the white stripe is the Nicaraguan national coat of arms. It includes a triangle with a rainbow inside, as well as a five-pointed star and a red Phrygian cap. Each of the blue stripes represent the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea, while the white stripe represents peace.

The coat of arms reflects Nicaragua’s cultural and natural resources. The multi colored rainbow symbolizes the unity of all races and political ideologies in Nicaragua.
