The flag of Sudan consists of three horizontal stripes of equal size. The top stripe is red, the middle one is white, and the bottom stripe is black. In the center of the flag, there is a green triangle pointing towards the hoist side, which contains a gold-colored five-pointed star and a gold-colored Arabic script that translates to “There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his Prophet.” The red stripe represents the blood of the country’s martyrs, the white stripe represents peace, light, and optimism, and the black stripe represents Sudan’s dark past. The green color of the triangle represents prosperity, while the gold star represents unity and hope for the future.
